Telangana Police Constable Age Limit
  • Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 1st July, 2015 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1990 and not later than 1st July, 1997
  • For Home Guards, a person who, as on the date of notification, has been on duty as Home Guard for a minimum duration of 360 days within a period of two years and who is still continuing his service as Home Guard, must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 33 years as on 1st July, 2015 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1982 and not later than 1st July, 1997.
  • For the post code no. 26 - Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 33 years as on 1st July, 2015 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1982 and not later than 1st July, 1997
Educational Qualification - The candidate must hold, as on 1st July, 2015, Intermediate or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government. In the case of a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, as on 1st July, 2015, he / she must have passed SSC or its equivalent examination recognised by the Telangana State Government and should have studied Intermediate and appeared for the Intermediate Examination in, both the 1st year and 2nd year.

Women Reservation - 33 1/3 % of vacancies in each category are reserved for women for the Post code No. 21 and 10 % of vacancies in each category are reserved for women for the Post code No. 22 under direct recruitment. In the event of non-availability of eligible and suitable women candidates, the vacancies reserved for them shall not be carried forward to the succeeding recruitment and shall be filled up by men candidates of respective category. The reservation for women will be a horizontal reservation following principle of sufficiency i.e., the reservation of women candidates shall be adjusted proportionately in the respective category to which the women candidate belongs.

Fee - The applicants belonging to OCs/BCs shall pay a fee of Rs. 400/- (Rupees four hundred only) and those belonging to SCs/STs shall pay a fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees two hundred only) towards Application Processing and Examinations. 

Selection Procedure - All the eligible candidates applied for the various posts, shall be required to appear for the Preliminary Written Test in one paper (three hours duration) for 200 marks. The syllabus is given in Annexure II (A).

Selection Process - The Andhra Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Applicants will be selected based on their performance in Preliminary selection Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Written Examination.

Preliminary Selection Test - In selection test, candidates have to run for 2.5 Kms within 16 minutes for Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Sub Inspectors of Police (Civil) (Women) in Police Department post and run for Five (5) kms with in 25 minutes for remaining all posts.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - The candidates who qualify in the preliminary selection test and who possess the minimum physical standards will required to under go the 100 meters run, Long jump, Short Put (7.26 Kgs/ 4 kgs), High jump, 800 metres run in the specified duration of time/ distance according to the desires post.

Written Examination - Candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test will be required to appear for a written examination in four papers, each of three hours duration. Paper I for English, Paper II for Telugu, Paper III for Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (Objective in nature) and Paper IV for General Studies (Objective in nature). The minimum marks to be secured by a candidates in order to qualify in the written examination is 40% for OCs; 35% for BCs; and 30% for SCs/STs and Ex.Servicemen in each paper.

Educational Qualification for Junior Engineer (Track Machine) - Post 49 Three Years Diploma in (a) Civil / Mechanical/ Electrical / Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering from a recognized University / Institution. 

Educational Qualification for Depot Material Superindent - Post 50 Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognised Institution OR approved by AICTE.

Educational Qualification for Junior Engineer (IT) - Post 51 B.Tech(CS) / B.Tech(IT),PGDCA / B.Sc (Computer Science) / BCA /DPEACC/ DOEACC "A" level course of three years duration or equivalent from recognized University / Institution.

Educational Qualification for Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant - Post 52 Degree in Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering from Recognised Institution approved by AICTE (OR) M.Sc Degree in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry from Recognised University.

How to Apply 

Photograph - A colour photograph of size 3.5 cm X 3.5 cm (not earlier than three months from the date of application), with clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses, should be uploaded. The size of the uploaded photograph should be between 15kb-20 kb. Candidates may note that RRBs may, at any stage, reject the applications for uploading old/unclear photograph along with application or for any significant variations between photograph uploaded along with Application Form and the actual physical appearance of the candidate. Candidates are advised to keep two additional copies and also a post card size copy of the same photograph ready with them for bringing along with e-Call Letter and valid Photo ID at the time of examination/ during Document Verification, During submission of ONLINE application, a Registration Number will be issued to each applicant. Candidates are advised to preserve/note their Registration Number for further stages of recruitment process / correspondence with RRB concerned. NOTE-I - ONLINE Applications without photo of candidate, not having requisite fee (if applicable) are liable to be rejected.

  1. Click on the "ONLINE/E-Application" Link.
  2. Click on the "New Registration" link.
  3. Fill in the basic details viz. Name, Father's name, Date of Birth, e-mail Address and Mobile number etc. Open inbox of your registered e-mail and click on the link received to proceed further.
  4. Follow the instructions and complete the registration process step-by-step for getting a Registration Number & Password
  5. Login using the Registration Number and Password. Select the post ‘Senior Section Engineer’ (SSE) or ‘Junior Engineer’ (JE) as the case may be.
  6. Fill up other details such as educational qualification etc. Depending upon the educational qualification of the candidate, the eligible post(s) matching with the qualification (of the candidate) in that RRB shall be listed out. Similarly if that RRB has vacancies from more than one Railway/Unit, then all such units will also be listed out. Candidates have to indicate their priority/ preference for the post(s) and / or Railway(s)/Unit(s).
  7. Pay examination fee (` 100/- only), if applicable, online using Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking. Exam fee can also be paid through SBI Branch or any computerised Post Office after downloading a pre-printed Challan/Pay-In-Slip. Ensure payment of exam fee is done only during the dates mentioned in the Challan/Pay-In-Slip.
  8. Upload your colour photograph (of size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) size between (15kb-20 kb).
  9. Download the blank "Template" by clicking on the link "Download Template". This "Template" has the space for affixing your signature, left thumb impression, the declaration, Registration Number and Photograph.
  10. Login with Registration Number and Password in the link for "UPLOAD" and thereafter, upload the photograph
  11. Candidates belonging to SC/ST have to upload scanned copy of their SC/ST certificates also for availing the facility of free travel authority (Second Class Railway Pass).
  12. Submit the application. Print out the acknowledgement for records.
  13. Even after final submission, if a candidate wishes to make any modifications, he/she can do so but for any such modification additional fee of ` 100/- shall be payable. This fee for modification shall be applicable even to candidates belonging to exempted categories (i.e.SC/ST/PWD/Ex- SM/Woman/Minority/economically backward class candidates).
  14. To modify application already submitted, go to the "ONLINE/E-Application" link.
  15. Click on the 'Modify Application' link.
  16. Login using Registration Number and Password.
  17. Pay additional fee (` 100/-) either online or through SBI branch/computerized Post Office after downloading a pre-printed Challan/Pay-In-Slip. Ensure payment is done within the dates mentioned in the challan.
  18. After making payment login using Registration Number and Password and proceed with the modification as per instructions given
